3-28-2003 deborah and helen yoga

when sweet pea was two weeks old we started postpartum yoga with deborah rault at open sky movement. many of us had taken prenatal yoga at open sky with deborah. she is amazing and we all learned so much from her and so enjoyed all that she had to share with us including her compassion and encouragement in all that is motherhood. soon i will do a post on how deborah and my prenatal/postpartum yoga changed our lives.

3-2003 yoga with deborah

after a year of postpartum yoga, deborah moved to california and encougaged us to continue meeting and doing our practice without her.

new babies already loving each other

well we continued to meet but most of the practice was with new recipes and marathon nursing. we really worked through so many life changing events in our group and are so connected in a very special way. true friends helping each other through in so many ways. you hold such a special place in my heart. sounds very corny i know. we had many come and go in the group. several that were there every week. some weeks we had 3 to 5 families other weeks we had 16 to 18. it was always an adventure. but we all shared a very special bond.

great swing

it has been at least a year and for some 2 years since we have been together and today we were able to get about 7 families together. we missed those that were not there, but so enjoyed seeing the kids play together and catch up. a few of the dads played golf and some of us arrived at 10:30 and left at almost 5. we met many new babies, reminised about the past and planned for the future. a day filled with joy, hope, melencholy and sadness to see it end. can't wait to do it again sooner this time.

love and miss you all already my dear friends.

radiation oncologist

i love my radiation oncologist. she is so caring and she is one of the most organized people that i have ever come into contact with. she also has this positive exuberent energy, i don't know how to explain it but i feel somehow elevated when i leave seeing her. obviously i had a clean appointment today! always good to see the one of your oncologists when they say you look great! no other appointments needed, see you next year. she of course says so much more than that, but that is the HIGHLIGHT!!!

i have had this fabric that i received from a wonderful woman who works at our local interior design center. for a while she was listing fabric and wallpaper samples on our local freecycle. i have been a lapsed freecycle member lately, so i don't know when the last time was that she listed but i love freecycle.

regrouping and focusing on balance

regrouping and focusing on balance

8-10-2008 121
i have been very over scheduled this month. i am trying to increase the length of my day to complete what needs to be completed, family responsibilities and those things that i am trying to accomplish to meet my goals. i am finding that i am very tired and not really meeting many of the goals and doing most of them halfway. one of my other concerns is that i promise things that i have trouble delivering. this is making me crazy, it is important for me to be dependable. i worry how this affects helen too.

8-10-2008 140 my new plan is to start scheduling everything for a while to see if we can be more efficient.

will let you know how this is helping. i really believe that if we can stick to the calendar and make so rules about scheduling outings on specific days this may help.

any other thoughts you could share that would help?

these photos are from the laura ingells wilder day last year at the genesee country village and museum in mumford not far from where we live. we had a great very hot day there with our neighbors last summer.

my sister was in town and we all took a day trip down to the corning museum of glass with my dad and steopmom.

so much to see. sweetpea took a sand blasting class. nothing like having 5 adults watching a 7 year olds every move to make her feel totally the center of the world. some days it seems sad for her to be an only child, today i don't think that she was minding it much!

7-13-2009 CORNING DIORAMA

we love dioramas. this one was showing how they used to have a round furnace and all the glass blowers would stand around the outside and work around the furnace. this picture doesn't really capture it. still very cool.
